I love being a personal branding photographer for women entrepreneurs. I get to meet so many amazing women, learn about what they are doing and then help them to shine bright! And Jen from Your Color Style was no exception. I call her the Colorful Goddess because she is color style coach but also because she is plain and simply colorful! One of the definitions of colorful is full of interest; lively and exciting.
And she is exactly that! Check out her website! She’s got e-Books, products and courses to help you understand what colors look good on you. That old school thing you did back in the 80s that went by seasons? That’s old and out dated!
She also has great videos. In fact, she was the impetus for me finally going live on Facebook. We were talking about that during her session. I was telling her how uncomfortable video makes me … how I look, how I sound, how I’m fidgeting. She was like you just gotta get over that and it will all be fine. So thanks Jen!
Jen found me through Google! Can I just say how incredible it is to know that Google works and that I show up high enough that people find me?!
She saw my portfolio but thanks to other beautiful souls who left me 5 star reviews, she was able to see how pleased previous clients have been.
Jen wanted shots on a white backdrop but she was also curious about on location shots. I knew that Old Town Alexandria would offer a number of great outdoor locations with amazing color — buildings, doorways, etc… Because with a color style coach, there’s got to be an emphasis on color! And sometimes that color is just a little accent that makes a big impact, like bright red lipstick or red shoes. We also wanted images that highlighted her products as well as that would work for her website and social media.
It was a lot of fun pulling outfits together, changing up looks, tooling around Old Town and throwing in some balloons! The only part that was not fun was the drive back to my place. One of the worst 95/Rt 1 South traffic jams I’ve ever sat in. Thanks a lot Northern Virginia traffic! F-bombs had to fly at that point. But luckily it didn’t totally overshadow such a bright and colorful day. Special thanks to Vicky Modica from Makeup By Modica who did Jen’s hair and makeup. She suggested the bright red lip color with the black jumpsuit and wow!
